Shroud of the Avatar backers are being invited to an early access test that will let them create a character, claim a house and explore the town of Owl's Head.
If you're among Shroud of the Avatar's many backers you may want to check your email. Awaiting for you amidst the bill reminders and spam from "local hotties looking for love" may be an invitation to partake in the first early access test for Shroud of the Avatar.
Included players will be given a chance to create a character and explore the town of Owl's Head. The test will be restricted to the village, but it's still a chance to try out the game in a very early form while likewise helping Portalarium test its performance metrics on "real user machines." Players are likewise being encouraged to speak with NPCs in the village to help give the developers a better feel for how they'll need to develop the game's dialogue going forward. Participants in this early access test will also be able to claim a house in Owl's Head and decorate it with a variety of goodies that will be provided as a part of the test.
Sadly, because of the early stage of this test, players will be restricted by some fairly strict limitations. For instance, Owl's Head will be the only area available in the test. Trying to leave the town will simply lead you right back into it. Players can also expect their characters and housing claims to be wiped after the test ends. This first early access test is scheduled to run from the morning of December 12th to 10:00PM CT on December 14th.
