Sneaky Games' is offering a free character skin for the first 50,000 players who register with the iPad version of Arena of Heroes.
Players looking for a bit of MOBA action for their iPads may want to give Arena of Heroes a try. A unique, turn-based take on the genre, its developer's at Sneaky Games recently wrapped up an iPad port of the game which, as of this moment, is now available and free-to-play in the App Store.
While you could perhaps make a case for a turn-based MOBA being a bit contrary to the genre, it's a compromise that's arguably well suited to mobile platforms like the iPad. Its asynchronous play options, for instance, makes it possible for competing players to battle each other at a more leisurely, convenient pace. In the least, its publishers think it's a good idea. "In the creation of Arena of Heroes, Sneaky Games and Perfect World are bringing together the popular MOBA experience in an asynchronous gameplay style that has never been done in a MOBA before," said Pierre Nicolas, general manager of mobile games at Perfect World Entertainment.
Hoping to draw new players in, Sneaky Games is taking the step of offering the first 50,000 people to register an account with the iPad edition of AoH a premium character skin. Considering that it doesn't cost a dime to get started with the game, we can't think of a good reason not to at least give it a try.
