Jumpgate Evolution: Protests on Ares Prime

Trivera, Ares Prime (TRI-FP) - Several thousand protestors have been reported dead or injured in the last three days, as peaceful demonstrations quickly turned into full scale riots after Octavian planetside security forces moved in to quell the protests.
While official reports claim the protests were over the governments handling of recent food shortages, some dispute this, claiming the protests are over the recent belligerent behavior of Prefect Galenus with respect to Solrain and Quantar.

Co-Emperor Septus expressed complete confidence in the Prefect in a statement delivered to the TRINN offices:

"Emperor Clements IV has shown great wisdom and strength in dealing with these petty protests over food. While our resources are, of course, limited, there are plentiful stocks of food and other necessities to go around, if citizens will exercise basic common sense. Ultimately, those citizens who complain deserve everything they get. As for the baseless rumors regarding Prefect Galenus, I fail to understand how these things continue to propagate The Prefect is acting in the best interests of Octavius, and has my complete support for his actions thus far. I am sure that he will continue to lead the Empire in a manner that is ultimately beneficial for Octavius."

In related news, Octavian authorities have confirmed that Maus was able to escape and elude security forces when a local riot overtook the building where he was being held and interrogated.
