Asherons Call: Loremaster Question of the Week

Two men meet atop an ancient citadel. One is a human augmented into an impossible creature by the Virindi; the other is an arrogant, overpowered, incompetent twit. They battle for hours, hurling incredible amounts of energy at one another, threatening to tear the surrounding countryside asunder. When the smoke clears and the last spell is cast, only one was left standing.

Okay, all this stuff we already know--Martine and Gaerlan fought, and Martine pulled a Jimmy Hoffa afterwards. Ever since, everyone has wondered whether or not Martine survived, but what if he did? What if somehow Martine survived the release of energy that destroyed the citadel, and furthermore, what if Gaerlan defied a lifetime of precedent and actually did something right and successfully created a portal to Ispar, allowing Martine to go through? That's this week's Loremaster Question of the Week: What happened to Martine after he returned to Ispar? Did he return to his wife Melanay (despite the whole "disappearing for ten years" thing)? Did the poor, naked man babbling about portals, aliens, and living shadows get thrown in an asylum by the constables? Or did he get run over and killed by an offal cart five minutes after he landed back on Ispar? What was Martine's fate after his return home?
