Dark Age Of Camelot: Roisin Dubh Regatta!

The primary event will be Caravell races. I will break donw how this will work.

Have you ever tried to sail in TOA and bumped into another boat anbd then they got locked togwether and it was a real pain to get them loose ? Well this will be a feature of the caravell races.

You see this race will be made up of a team of two boats each. Each team will have one Caravell ( probly spelling this wrong ) and one skiff. The teams will start at Oceanus and race to Volcanus.

When hte race starts the prupose of each teams skiff will be to crash into their openents caravell and thus slowing it down by hanging it up. You can play as dirty as you like to slow down the otehr ship but the caravell that hits the volcanus dock first wins. We had envisioned this to be teams represented as a guild so the prize is a Cetus trophy to be displayed in hte winning guilds Hall. The trophy though must be available for future regatas and has to be defended by the previous winning team.

Alot of people were worried about how many it took to pilot the caravell and it is decided it doesnt matter who you have in your ship you can invite anyone to come laong for the ride to help for the extra speed.

This race is actually about tactics and thus don't be discouraged if you have fewer in your boat than an oponent becuase you could still have a good skiff team that could slow the oponents down. Also if you happen to have a faster course to volcanus than someone else you can still win. This will also help us with future battles in hte frontier when hte expansion goes live.

Remember that only the caravell needs to arrive at volcanus , the skiffs are there as a support and blocker.

The first race to be held will be Skiff races. This is a little tricky so I hope you can follow what I type here.

Only 4 skiifs can race per " heat " Each skiff team starts at a seperate dock than the others.

So if we have 4 teams then team 1 will be at Oceanus dock to start. Team 2 is at Stygia , 3 Volcanus , 4 areus.

When the race starts each team must race around Atlantis in a clock wise fashion stopping at each port along the way. First to complete the circut wins.

So basically team 1 starting in Oceanus will head to stygia , then volcanus , then to Areus and finally returning to Oceanus. Team two will start at Stygia and then head to Volcanus , then Areus , Oceanus and then back to Stygia. First team to complete the circut wins the race.
