O.K., look. It's a Final Fantasy game, guys. Yes, it's unrealistic. Most cities wouldn't send a bunch of kids on a quest for toilet paper, much less the ONLY thing that will keep them all alive. This game established itself as the title to beat, right out of the gates, and it is strong enough to actually make some of the "all time best" lists. We break it down for you here and tell you why it is so good.
It's a sappy game. No, that is not some kind of juvenile insult. It is, quite honestly, a game about collecting tree sap! Yes, there is fighting and magic. No, they don't call it sap. They call it Myrrh, and it's used to refurbish crystals that protect the world from a gelatinous evil, Miasma, threatening to engulf everyone. It is still, the long and short of it, a game about collecting tree sap.
