PRESS RELEASE:
Virtual Goods and Services Inc. announces official launch of the Lineage 2 section of Virdaq.com™ virtual goods marketplace to the general public
Toronto, Canada - April 2, 2004 - Virtual Goods and Services Inc. is proud to announce the addition of its "Lineage 2 Section" to the virtual marketplace site: www.virdaq.com. In anticipation of the upcoming official game release, the section has been opened so that sellers can begin to ready their virtual gaming wares for sale and exposure of the site to the Lineage 2 players can begin during the open beta. Players will flock to sell Adena, but Virdaq.Com will be adding to its database each and every viable Lineage 2 item that players may sell as it has done with past games.
To celebrate the launch of the game Lineage 2 and the marketplace section of The Virdaq for Lineage 2, Virdaq.Com is waiving all listing fees during the months of April and May. CEO Bill Tackaberry states, "we feel Lineage 2 will be a juggernaut in the MMORPG market and we want to allow its players to enjoy using the Virdaq for free during this launch time". Regarding the success of Final Fantasy XI and sales at The Virdaq for FFXI, he adds, "FFXI players picked Virdaq above all other marketplace sites, including Ebay, to sell their virtual wares. By allowing Lineage 2 players a similar free listing period as we did for FFXI and by working closely with its sellers to tailor The Virdaq to their specific needs, I am positive they will also make a make a similar choice - The Virdaq is simply a better way to sell virtual goods".
The Virdaq which launched its unique approach to virtual item selling for gamers in July 2003 with the slogan, "Play Hard. Trade Smart.", has quickly set the bar for virtual marketplace sites. An elaborate feedback system, indexed listing system, automated relisting system and store site hosting are just a few of the many features Virdaq.Com has incorporated into its site model. CTO Craig Lehtovaara cites, "probably our strongest feature in the eyes of the sellers is free relisting each and every time their item fails to sell; we want the sellers to succeed, pure and simple".
Virdaq.Com will continue to add upcoming MMORPG (Massively Multi-player Online Role Playing Games) that prove to have a large following and vibrant out-of-game economy. The next big title the site is waiting to add is World of Warcraft, an upcoming Blizzard release.
