Hey folks! Some of you may have seen the article on Turbine in today's Providence Journal. You might've noticed the reference to "Turbine Nation 2004" and thought, "Hey, what happened to my ACPL?"
We'll be making an official announcement about this soon -- along with information on ticket sales and such -- but I wanted to get info up about the name today. Because Turbine is about more than Asheron's Call now, and many of our players are also interested in Middle-Earth Online and Dungeons & Dragons Online, we've decided to make our annual convention into an event for *all* of our games. Thus the new name -- Turbine Nation.
Currently our plans include multiple events happening simultaneously, for example you could attend a MEO session in the morning and an AC session in the afternoon, or vice-versa. Or you could attend both AC sessions, depending on your personal interests.
And the ACPL isn't going away! The Asheron's Call Player Luncheon will be a separate event within Turbine Nation, specifically for the adventurers of Dereth. Turbine Nation attendees can choose whether or not they want to also purchase a ticket to the ACPL, which will put them side-by-side with AC and AC2 developers during a lunch hosted by Jessica Mulligan.
Turbine Nation is set for Saturday, August 7 at the Rhode Island Convention Center in downtown Providence. As you can imagine, we're very excited about Turbine Nation -- we've got some great events planned, ideas for lots of cool swag, contests and, of course, we'll have more info there about the recently announced AC expansion pack.
We'll be posting more information soon!
