April 23, 2004 - Not only is the massively multiplayer environment starting to fill up with some serious names (Blizzard, Sigil Games, LucasArts, NCSoft), but we're also seeing some stratification of ambition. Not everyone is going for the pot of gold at the rainbow, fortunately, and many groups are willing to cater to a long-term, dedicated fanbase that might be smaller, rather than being everything to everyone and therefore not really appealing to anyone in particular.
Ryzom is skill-based instead of class-based, so any player should be able to learn and perfect any of the 100+ skills that will be available at launch. Further, you can customize combat moves using "bricks," units acquired during the course of the game that you can cash in how you see fit, making for more unique attacks than the defaults you can get from trainers.
