Tim Holman posted this over on the accmty boards:
Greetings folks,
Thanks to all for your feedback, some very good points were brought up here. While we're still working out the details of the system, here's some answers to some of your questions:
- Players will not be able to spend more than 50 points in specialized skills. We are not increasing the number of skill credits each player has the potential of getting.
- Penalty on Training/Untraining/Specializing/Unspecializing: We're
still working on this one and haven't decided on what, if any, penalty there will be. Vitae was mentioned, so was a small % reduction in the amount of xp you'd get back, but we just haven't decided yet. Once we do, we'll pass it on to you.
- Training a skill to meet requirements to use certain equipment, then untraining but still being able to activate equipment: This was brought up in our discussions as well and we plan on preventing this from
happening. Look for more details to come.
- Racial skill sell back: Our plan is that players will not be able to sell back racial skills below the trained level.
- Limiting the number of times a character can do this. This was brought up in our design meetings and debated for quite some time. The debate keeps going, so no answer yet.
- Specializing in Item Tinkering: This will not be possible as the skill was designed to not be specialized.I'm going to leave this thread open through the end of Saturday so the weekend warriors can throw in their 2p. Please respect that and only continue to post if you have new stuff to add. Thanks for not letting this break down into a debate thread. Look for me to present our plan next week.
-Tim
