Freeworld: Outrage over Screenshot contest!

Players all over Seregor were outraged over the results of the recent Screenshot contest, Due to the Winners Being suspected of "buying" their votes, Most players agree that after seeing the pictures that won, most notably the 1st place with 37 votes by ximix, were, in actual fact, horrible. The picture shown of a House, a sun, and a moon was generaly conciderd to be one of the worst entries, as it really had nothing decent to it, yet it somehow won? reports indicate that several players admit to voting for this paticular pic as they were payed to do it! also there was alot of advertising for this one picture over the forum by Ximix, although there were no rules specified concerning the advertising or buying votes for their pictures, it gives a clear unfair advantage.

Most players want to see a change in the way future contests are held to avoid this. one suggestion by Calinor was to remove all names of the pictures, and just leave the pictures, this way the people voting will vote on the picture, not the person who took it, all advertising for a certain picture would also therefore be illegitimate. Another idea suggested by Kakashi, was that only the moderators and developers could vote on the picture they thought were best.

The players belive that this Last vote should also be rectified, as The screenshot competitions are generally regarded as the best Pictures the game has to offer. Now if someone was to go to look over freeworld, and saw that picture as the winner of the latest contest, would they bother to play? i know i would'nt of.

When asked for Comment, Ximix Stated:

"i only influence the people who would not have voted if i hadn't those people would have never voted
i helped the community by giving to the people
you ever be a tri? walk around for a wile then this dude says " hey ill give you a hellhound if you vote for me"
looking at the other winners mine and xmlspy were the best, kakashi is just whining becuase he didn't win.
i talked to Netheril Nightwind about "influencing votes" he said it was wrong and i agreed but i claimed i was helping others out with a little help in return. i said i will be giving hellhounds to tris next phase < WHICH I WILL BE> and he pointed out someone else could do the same thing but without the intent to help others "
