Anarchy Online: The Beast Dies!

Yesterday, at approximately 6pm CST, give or take an hour =), the final boss in the Shadowlands fell to the combined forces of Omni-Tek and the Clans. There have been many attempts to take down this monster, but only one has succeeded, and only one other, two days ago, even came close. This event is not only a server first, but a game first, and Marius showed up afterwards to congratulate those present. Marius was quoted as saying "You have killed all the bosses in Shadowlands, but that is not the end." Shameless AI plug, or is there still yet more to discover in Pandemonium? When he died a server wide message hit every player online at the time; The screams of a thousand dying souls tear through your mind.

Alien Invasion's storyline relied on the death of the Beast, his death, according to the story anyway, causes a big enough flux in the Source to threaten the aliens home planet, prompting their invasion of Rubi-Ka to save themselves.
