Dark Age Of Camelot: A big thanks from Kwip

| 6 May 2004 17:18

By now many of you know Kwip from N3. A while back we got a message from Kwip (which you can read here) about raising money for an MS Walk (Multiple Sclerosis). Today we received this in the mail:

Hi everyone! First, a HUGE thank you to all of you, and especially your communities/readers. Team NeenerNeener.Net raised almost $6,000 this year in our fight against Multiple Sclerosis. It was a great time, made better by the love & support by the gaming community. You guys ROCK!

Second, a friend of mine is doing research for one of them research paper thingamabobs (yeah, I know, you love it when I talk fancy) at the University of Surrey in the UK. She's looking for MMORPG players that... Well, here, these are her exact words:

"I'm looking for people who play MMRPGs from wheelchairs, regardless of how long they've played them or have been in a wheelchair. I'm open to speaking with men and women, kids and grown ups about their experiences in the games, in order to explore whether different populations "use" the games for different purposes, and whether the games "affect" their RLs in different ways. It's an online interview that should take 1/2 an hour and explores the reasons people play the games, what they do and what they don't do. I'll be interviewing women for another part of this study in the future, as well as people who suffer from social anxiety disorder."

If you or someone you know can help, please feel free to contact her
directly at psm1ak@surrey.ac.uk.

Thanks again for all your help. As always, if you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
Take care,
Kwip

For all those that supported Kwip, Camelot Warcry thanks you as well.
