Folks,

It's E3.

When Brad gets back he'll clarify things more, but we were holding off releasing the sort of info we released this week until E3. And of course, we released it to the media at E3. That's what E3 is about, why the media goes there, and why developers/publishers exhibit there.

We're not withholding anything from you that we were allowed to talk about (or that the time was right to talk about) before Wednesday.

When the dust settles in LA this week, you can bet we'll be back in here talking about what was released, in as much depth as we can.

I can't express how important this forum and the community is to us. We've released information on our site and to these forums first whenever we could, and to our fansites as well. Fansite journalists were given basically the same access as the magazines and big websites, and we've made it a point to invite our fans to see the game for some time now.

For example, those that made it to our Dave & Buster's get-together two weeks ago were shown basically the same thing the media saw this week. We'd like to keep doing that sort of thing.

But keep in mind that the "conventional" media is also important to us (though I'd take you guys over them any day!), and we have to do special things for them as well.

In general, talking about the game is a real balancing act. We don't want to release too much info ("secret sauce", we like to call it), for competitive reasons among others, but we want to give our fans something to look forward to and discuss with us. Bear with us as we try to juggle.

It's been said before, but we also have to manage expectations. There are a lot of things we want to do with Vanguard (and a lot of things we've already done), but while fairly confident we can pull most of it off, until those things are in the game, working, and fun, it's not a sure thing.

If it's not a sure thing, we're reluctant to discuss it, because it's a letdown (for us as well as you all) when something doesn't make it in or gets cut, or turns out to be a bad idea.

So hang in there, it's going to be a fun and interesting ride for all of us up to release. And a great ride thereafter!
