New to Everquest 2?

It's easy to be intimidated by online gaming. The idea of integrating yourself into an already established community of players can easily diffuse interest. In fact, it may seem the very same way with Everquest 2. Simply put, the 2 often insinuates a sequel, or an expansion, or some type of add-on to pre-existing material. However, Everquest 2 is, in fact, a stand alone product that breaks new ground by literally reinventing it's previous incarnate. Therefore, it promises to be like nothing we have seen before. Those of you thinking that within the realms of Everquest all journeys have been taken...

... you're wrong.

This is a New World. This is Norrath 500 years in the future. It's a new Game, a new concept and a new opportunity to whet your appetite with adventure!
Here at Warcry, it is our intention, not only to serve the ever-growing community of
Everquest aficionados, but also be a primary resource of information for those who are stepping into this plane of existence for the first time... in fact, it will be a journey together. Everquest 2 seems like a big secret. Information that has been released is, to be frank, minimal. Closed Beta begins soon, and there is a very strict Non-Disclosure agreement in place. This ensures that we will all begin drawing on the same canvas.

Let's not have Everquest 2 fall under a category defined by it's predecessor, instead, let us look at this from an entirely new perspective. Having played Everquest for only a short amount of time a few years ago, I found it a bit overwhelming as I boarded this ship here at Warcry. It appeared all of my colleagues were seasoned vets who could rattle off names, places, events, and loot like it was second nature. In the beginning, I thought I was up against an insurmountable challenge. How could I stand alongside these individuals who were far more experienced in Everquest than I was?

Easily, as none of us were Experienced in this realm, that of Everquest 2, and what we did share was immense anticipation. So if you're thinking "I know nothing about Everquest, lets find something else." I implore you to think again.

Everquest 2 is far seperated from the original title, and there are a plethora of interesting plots waiting to unfurl.

I spoke with someone the other day who, upon finding about my position here at Everquest 2 said, "I tried Everquest a long time ago, it wasn't my cup of tea, too teenage for me." I replied with, "Well, this isn't Everquest."

In realizing how profoundly different the two are, similar mostly in lore and title, I also see it may be difficult to lure new blood onto the platform of playing. Everyone seems to be satisfied and loyal to their current game choices believing that this is nothing more than a glorified expansion. In essence they think Everquest has already been 'represented' in the gaming community, and expect fleets of know-it-all's to charge in on opening day, in November.
There are no experts here anymore. The playing field has been leveled. we are all beginners waiting zealously for that next tidbit of information from Sony.

For those of you who are looking for a change, for a refreshment, something entirely new... Let me ask you this soon to be most common question-

Will you EQ 2?
