Ryzom needs PvP to enforce common sense, Kwip explains:

"I think that harvesting resources is the greatest argument for forced PvP play.

Especially in the starter towns. I can't tell you how many times I'm running around town and I see two people begin making empty threats at each other over harvesting rights... I think it's another great example of developers expecting players to act like mature human beings and players having no such interest."
