Vanguard: Vanguard: Saga of Heroes E3 Preview

The highlight of E3 for me was definitely Vanguard. As many of you know it was my main reason for going at all. The dinner, and to a lesser extent, the demo. That isn't to say that the rest of E3 wasn't completely friggin awesome as well, but to me it all paled in comparison. With that in mind, read on!

"The real EverQuest 2" - it's been said, but it is most definitely not. Even Brad McQuaid himself would agree there. I've personally asked him this question multiple times. Maybe around now he's getting sick of always seeing me around, and is about to send the Sigil Strike Team out to get me out of his hair. In any case, I wouldn't call Vanguard: Saga of Heroes EverQuest 2. Or even EverQuest Reloaded. The history is there for sure, but I believe they want to go in a different direction, and step out of EQ's massive shadow and create a new brand name, and in 3 years everyone will be saying "Everwha?" Think of Vanguard as a game all its own, keeping everything EQ did right, and fixing everything it did wrong.
