Everquest 2: Stratics Contest

What is the Mosaic Contest? This is a fun event where you have a chance to win some great prizes as well as learn a little bit about EverQuest II in the process!

Use this link to discuss the Mosaic Contest. Feel free to share the words found, but show restraint on the actual answers if you don't want too many to ruin your chances!

Objectives:

Tho object of the game is simple. We will start you out with one Mosaic screenshot. You will be given a web link below to download the Mosaic. These Mosaics will be large in size, both file size and screen size. You will need some way to zoom in. Internet explorer should provide you with this automatically, otherwise any paint program should work. WITHIN this screenshot you will find a certain amount of words. It may be as little as four words or as many as twenty! Either way we will inform you each round how many words there are. That's the only clue you will have though!

Download the first screenshot as described below, and zoom in using any method you have available, and search each of the small boxes for the words. They will be scattered around the entire Mosaic.

How small are these words? Just look for a word that will roughly fill up the size of one of the boxes. Don't look too far within the boxes, and don't zoom out too far either. You will see them clearly enough. As soon as you find one, you will know what all the others are like.

After you have successfully found all the words that are in the Mosaic, using the table below to ensure you have the count right, arrange the words to spell out a sentence. This sentence will be in the forum of a question. This question must be answered before proceeding to the next Mosaic.

You would then seek out the answer in the official EverQuest II site, or anywhere else you can get the official answer. Once you have the answer, you would use this to discover the next Mosaic.

EXAMPLE:

You find the words - In, Lives, Water, This, Species

The question would be organized like this - This Species Lives In Water

The answer would be - Fish

You would then add Fish, exactly as you would expect the name to be spelled as well as capitalized, into the website address:

There are a total of 5 Mosaics, with 5 questions to be answered, each week.

Each mosaic has a question that brings you to the next mosaic.

When you have all 5 questions answered for the first round you E-mail us all 5 answers in order, at EverQuest II Stratics Contest.

All the players who E-mail us at EverQuest II Stratics Contest, are put into a drawing where 20 players from each of the first 3 rounds will have a chance at the fourth round. On Wednesdays starting this Wednesday, we will have a list below of the 20 players per round who are going into the pool for the fourth round. For the fourth round, we will select a random drawing of 10 players from the original 60 entries.

Everytime you win a round, you increase your chances to enter the fourth round. Yes, you can continue to play even if you won a previous round.

During the fourth round, the final ten contestants who were picked from the three rounds, will compete "live" at a time that will determined in the future. Out of those 10, only the first 2 will get one of the grand prizes. The 4 runner ups will receive a secondary prize each.

The first official Mosaic posting will be posted above, this coming Wednesday. NO DUPLICATES ENTRIES ALLOWED. Anyone who attempts to enter twice under seperate names in one round will be rejected, and yes we can tell if you do. Also, any entries for the previous week will not be accepted after the following Mosaic is posted.

Instructions:

1. Download the current weeks Mosaic above
2. Zoom in and find words hidden in the Mosaic
3. Put together the words to form a question
4. Find the answer to that question in the official site or elsewhere

(ANY SPACES THAT WOULD BE CONTAINED IN THE ANSWER, SUCH AS {Water Fall Tower}, WOULD HAVE AN UNDERSCORE _ FOR THE SPACE. ALSO, CAPITALS ARE USED FOR NAMES AND PLACES AS YOU WOULD EXPECT TO SEE THEM)

5. E-mail us the answer to all 5 questions at EverQuest II Stratics Contest
6. (For Third Round) - The last round before the finals is a bit different. You still need to find the questions and go from one Mosaic to the next, however, in each Mosaic there will be a red word. Combine all five red words for a final question. This red question does NOT have to be answered if you do not wish to, its a fun ending only. Submit this answer if you wish, along with your original five answers.

Final Round Date/Time:

Friday June 18th at 7pm PST in the STRATICS IRC channel, #eq2gamenight.

What we will do is have everyone in the community participate for the final round! We will assign numbers to each contestant. The games will be geared so you get to pick the number, without knowing which contestant it is. We will do this for all six prizes. Details of the final round will be given during that Friday.

Every Friday at 7pm PST in the channel I host a game hour with trivia and fun activities before the Online Gaming Radio. That Friday will feature the Mosaic Contest. Look soon each Friday for UT Fight Night!

WHAT ARE THE PRIZES?! Fun stuff... that's all I will say for now. We wouldn't be putting up a contest if it wasn't at all worth it right?!
