Lots of posts last night by our pal GFrazier, but let us settle down and talk about one in particular. This is a question that I was happy to see asked.
Goldboyy45 asked: "FRAZIER, why not have ppl pay for beta?" There were many replies by the fans and GFrazier too... so, let's recap:
>FRAZIER, why not have ppl pay for beta?
The goal of a beta is to test the game rather than get money.
There could be all kinds of cheap ways to get money if that was the
goal. =(> Thats true... but if people are willing to pay, do you think you
> would get more quality beta testers? because obviously they want
> help test if they are willing to pay...Actually a way to get the best testers would be some kind of
interview/application process BUT the goals of betas are typically
to include a wide range of people from the common gamer to the
experienced beta tester. Also systems of various kinds need to be
tested.Finding good beta testers is very challenging but we do have a
friends list to draw on. Even experienced players (or top ladder
players) don't always make good beta testers. To be a good beta
tester you have to send good feedback and report bugs. Many people
simply play the game and while that can help with testing the
server and giving REAL beta testers something to play, that doesn't
always make them good beta testers. The current system has been
working out with each beta BUT we (the fans) don't know how this
next beta will be run (details).> So...Im curious, as I'm sure much of the Bnet Forum goers are as

tournament or by being good beta testers.
Whew... that's a heck of a lot of posting. Too bad it wasn't to tell us that we've all been invited to the beta! Heheh... oh well, I can dream right?
