Everquest 2: Moorgard Confirms: Class/Race does affect affiliation

The argument has been heated since the release of the class tree back in March, But now Moorgard has made this official statement regarding issues of class and city affiliation.

Moorgard says:

Monks are good. To become a monk, you must pledge loyalty to Qeynos.

Bruisers are evil. To become a bruiser, you must bow down before the Overlord.

As mentioned above, an iksar must betray Freeport to become a monk. While iksar monks were popular in EQ, blame this change on the fact that they have become increasingly brutal and savage over the last 500 years.

To further clarify the affiliation of class and race lets look at this excerot from our friend Deathstryker's interview with Moorgard earlier:
Deathstryker: What races can ONLY start in Freeport, what races can ONLY start in Qeynos, and what races can start in EITHER Freeport or Qeynos?

Steve "Moorgard" Danuser: All races start in the same place: our tutorial. After that, race determines which city will initially accept you. Frogloks, Halflings, Dwarves, High Elves, and Wood Elves will be heading to Qeynos. Iksar, Trolls, Ogres, Ratonga, and Dark Elves will be taking up residence in Freeport. Kerra, Barbarians, Erudites, Gnomes, Half Elves, and Humans can choose which city to call home.

This has also been added to our FAQ. Thanks!
