Asherons Call: MMORPGs in the Limelight

Now that the first MMORPG is coming to market to deal with "real life", it's catching the attention of a good bit of mainstream media.

The Sims Online is featured on MSNBC, as it has made the cover of Newsweek. Asheron's Call is mentioned a few times as a member of the game genre. However, it is made clear that in TSO, "there's no time spent figuring out how to cast spells or cut down orcs", but rather it "draws on real life, with houses, streets, nightclubs, game shows, wedding chapels and most other real-life analogues you can think of".

Now, how orcs and magic aren't part of real life, but frequent hot tub parties and regular infidelity are, we'll have to leave up to responsible journalism.
