Asherons Call: Soapbox - Macros a Question of $$?

After posting "Could Macros Be Helping AC?", I expected to receive a deluge of responsive Soapboxes about how no, the money didn't help.

Surprise #1 - I received only one Soapbox in response.
Surprise #2 - The response doesn't mention whether the money helps or not, only that it doesn't matter. It's the philosophy of combat macros that matters.

Hence we have today's Soapbox from Eidos of Frostfell, "Macros a Question of $$?". Not an argument that they don't help, just an argument that they shouldn't exist.
