Korrigan asks,
Scenario: could something be done to make boots look better with Amuli legs ?
Maybe just do it so that amuli pants are worn OVER the boots, and not tucked inside like it is now

Harzah adds,
I actually like the boots worn over the amuli look It'd be nice to maybe have a choice though. Granted it'd be more art, but if you put your boots on first, it could look like they were on underneath and if you put them on last, it could look like they were over the amuli *shrugs*

Scenario answers,
Some people like the tucked in look, some people don't. Unfortunately, making the equipping of clothing and armor an intelligent system would be out of my realm of influence.

Rakulp asks,
Greetings,

Scenario, first thanks for the response...since you say it's out of your realm of influence, does that mean as the lead artist, or computer code writer?

I would think that if the color of greaves can change the color of tassets to match, that maybe something could be changed in the game code to allow the boots to recognize if they are going on over armor, or underneath armor, and show up accordingly.

I, too, also like the knickers look...but can understand why someone might would like to have them under the armor instead.

Just a thought.

Scenario answers,
Out of my realm as in an enginner would need to be set on the task.

The greaves color changing is a palette related effect, a system that is unrelated to what parts overlap what other parts.

Tanalith_LC asks,
Did Turbine get the 5 groups with 20+ members attending Turbine Nation?

There was an offer to allegiances going to Turbine Nation that the first 5 groups with 20+ people attending / registered you would get some private 'chat time' with the Developers.

I am asking if 5 allegiances have fit the bill
Tani

Ibn answers,
No, we didn't get 5 AC1 monarchies that met the requirements for the private session. We'd looked at the possibility of allowing non-monarchies that had 20 people, or monarchies that came close to the 20 requirement, to get a private session, but scheduling didn't allow for it.

Aiko II asks,
Devs: Can you please Explain Dungeon Mechanics?
Specifically: how does the time flow differ from outside? What I mean is, if player A is a level 126+ character and dies outside, his corpse will dissolve in a predictable amount of time ( one hour + 5 minutes for each level | around 11.5 hours total | ) but when the same player dies in certain dungeons, his corpse can be there for weeks. Case in point is when we did Caul recall. We were doing the lever dungeon and my friend died and since he was last we didn't get his corpse. Upon doing caul recall again with a different group a full Three weeks later , his corpse was still there!

How does this work? I have a theory but it has flaws. My theory is that time basically stops unless there is someone in the dungeon. The Flaw is that many people do this particular quest all the time and it would seem that time would flow enough that that corpse would have dissolved well before an entire three weeks.

I have also heard tales of corpses being around in dungeons for a long time even after they were opened! Like the player dies, comes back and gets his DIs but leaves the pyreals. The Corpse is there the following week with the Pyreals still there. Of course if you stop and take the pyreals and leave the corpse empty, it dissolves in the usual manner.

Can you explain this to me? Thanks.

Ibn answers,
The answers given on this thread have been mostly correct -- if a landblock unloads because no one is in it or in any adjacent landblock, the timers stop counting. This is true for both dungeons and landscape.

Paraduck's also correct -- currently corpses are written to disk when the servers are brought down so that they won't be lost to a monthly event. However if a server crashes before the landblock unloads, the corpse is most likely lost.

So if a player drops a corpse in a dungeon, and no one enters that dungeon again EVER, that corpse will stay there indefinitely. But it's only there so long as no one goes there to see it.

If the dungeon is actually physically removed from the game, the corpse is lost, I believe. I certainly can't think of any way to get it back in that case.

rankar asks,
Any plans for a server merge?
What's the latest news on any possible plans for a server merge?

Also, I know of many people that would come back to AC1 if the bots were all kicked...

A dead world with 100 bots is pretty unatractive... as much as I want to play AC1 that keeps driving me away...

Ibn answers,
We don't see any reason for a server merge. Honestly it's never even come up in discussion.

ember asks,
Can anyone tell me why?
Yesterday, Sunday Aug 1st. 4 of us went on the singularity quest. We were fine in first dungeon for the essance. Got to the next dungeon to get our weapon, that went fine. We went to the 3rd dungeon for the upgrade. 3 of us got out weapons upgraded. The 4th person handed the weapon for upgrade and never got it back. Is this a known issue? Does he have to wait for what ever timer is on it to redo it?

Ibn answers,
There are infrequent reports of this issue occuring when handing an NPC an item -- sometimes it looks like the NPC just "eats" the item and no reward is granted in return.

The reports appear to be increasing lately -- not sure if that's an increase in incidents or just an increase in reports -- so we're taking a closer look at our NPC code to try and figure out why and when this happens.

Taglia asks,
Critters spawning at cottage
I have had monsters spawn at my cottage frequently and it has become a serious nuisance. Can you please pull the spawn out of range for them to attack me every time I recall to my house? They have killed my mules many times and attack all my characters unprovoked. The cottage in question is located at:

Your location is Landblock: a88a0033, X: 155.8, Y: 63.6, Z: 34.0, H: 268.5

Ibn answers
I just went onto a local test world and teleported to the location you gave... and found myself face-to-face with a Virindi Master.

I can see how this could be a problem, I'll send a note over to QA to get it bugged if it's not already.

Just as an FYI though the forums aren't the best place to report these things. A better place is our "Report Bug" link on our website:
