Fortune smiles upon the Mind Controllers of the world! One of our programmers happened to touch upon XP code and added a nob for us designers to tweak to XP division for powers with Confuse!
As you know, XP is divided by damage done. And the damge done by a Confused mob to another mob is part of that equation. Right now, we've scaled that back so a Confused mob's damage is decreased to 25% of its value...
So let's say a Confused Hellion does 10 pts. of damage to another Hellion. In the XP calculation, it'll consider that only 2.5 pts. of damage. And a player does another 10 pts. of damage to finish off the injured Hellion.
So in the XP split, it'll go like this:
Confused Hellion 2.5/(2.5+5) or 33.3%
Player 5/(2.5+5) or 66.6%
Previously, there would have been a 50/50 split.
Is this the only change we'll make? No. But this is something we're putting right into the Expansion patch so that we can start looking at the numbers. It's a step in the right direction.
There's still other issues: Sleep & Fear. Both of those need addressing. But I thought you'd want to know a little about the XP boost.
