The staff over at Gamergod sit down with the EQ2 Dev Team to get the low-down on Artisans, here is a sample:

Gamergod: Will crafters grind the same items to level, or is there a new system in mind for EQ2? If there is a new system, can you explain a bit about it, and is there progress in the new system that allows for advancement while out of game, like so many new MMORPGs are adding?

EQ2 Dev Team: The process of creating items is much more involved than simply sticking ingredients into a bag and clicking a combine button. Item crafting is a process, and thus offers greater experience rewards for the artisan while taking more time to make each finished item.
