Dark Age Of Camelot: Shrouded Isles graphics

| 5 Dec 2002 17:24

I haven't played any Shrouded Isles yet, including beta. So I really don't know what it looks like, and I think I'm not alone in this.

Apparently Mythic is using NDL's graphic engine to power the expansion. It's also the same engine used in Morrowind's expansion, Tribunal. IGN has some comments about why this engine shines.

Among other new features, the game contains more realistic water with "wake" movement reflections, and extremely high-resolution textures that make every player, monster, and world object appear more realistic. Along with enhanced frame rate performances, the game also contains new shadow effects, special animation blending to allow monsters and other in-game characters to move more smoothly and realistically, and Mip-mapping to reduce texture "sparkle" at long distances.

That's good and all, but I want to hear from you people that are playing it right now. How are the graphics? Impressive? Meh?
