The redecorating of Freeworld continues, as Freeworlder CrazyMofo found out the other day while he was exploring. King Dave, one of the colorful members of the Freeworld dev team, has made a number of upgrades to his own personal castle (of course, he has a castle...why else is he named KING Dave? dohhh). Recommended level for entering the castle is 46 and up, but the fun never stops...with dungeons and jesters and ghouls oh my!
According to CrazyMofo, these new features include changing the royal guards into ghoulish rogue guards (what every castle needs, right?). King Dave has also added a crest above his throne. With this last patch, the lighting in and around the entire map is better. All the better to eat you with...erm...wrong fantasy...anyhow, with mummies, a shadow weaver, huge wolf spiders, ghost archers and ghouls lurking outside the castle gates, you will want to watch your step, or you might be blithely stepping into the kind of danger you really don't want to face...run...run very fast...and don't look back, whatever you do!
One of the fun things at the castle, if you're at least level 145, is to do the King Dave Coin Quest. It starts off with the simple task of getting a beer for the King. That whets his whistle just fine, and he unbends enough to talk to you and decide that you are worthy to participate in his quest. In a kingly fashion, he tells you that you must find five coins of his that were stolen by five different creatures throughout five different maps. Then, if once were not enough, you must find these five coins three times altogether. At the end of the third time, however, you get some loot that is truly awesome. I won't tell you what it is and spoil the surprise. Suffice it to say that you need to be level 160 to use it, but, trust me, you will love it! It's a fun quest and not very hard for level 145 to 160, but you do need to be patient, as it takes some time.
Another feature of King Dave's new castle, along with its bright look, is a dungeon, complete with Trickster, the jester. It's the fad nowadays, you know? Dungeon denizens stay healthier longer with lots of laughter to take their mind off such things as torture and stuff. Anyhow, the jester gives you a task to play hide n' seek with him. It's a fun exercise as long as you don't run into the resident soul weaver, who might just curtail your fun...quite suddenly.
Another fun thing to do in King Dave's castle is to find another Freeworlder (PC) and play tag with him/her. It's an awesome way to socialize, laugh a lot, and just plain enjoy yourself. There are also great hiding spots in the castle for playing tag or hide n' seek. Make sure to turn off the name tags, though, or it ruins the fun.
So come on down to King Dave's new castle for some fun and...oh, wait...tag! you're it!!
