Question Richter_Belmont_AC - Ralirea Skill Credit: there was a "bug" that allowed people to get flagged for the Ralirea quest, but never get the skill credit. They fixed it by recalculating the number of skill credits you should have when you log in. Does this mean that you don't actually have to turn in the figurine anymore, just kill Ralirea, log out, then back in? Or do you have to turn in the Figurine to get flagged as completing the quest?
Answer srand - When you turn in the figurine, you are marked as having completed the quest. This prevents you from doing the quest again. Now, it is sometimes possible for you to turn in the figurine, be marked with the quest flag, but then not receive the skill credit. In this case, you used to be screwed. You can't do the quest again, but you didn't get the skill credit. Now, we sanity check your credits on login to make sure that you have exactly the number you should have. This includes checking to see if you have completed the Ralirea quest by handing in the figurine. So yes, in order to get the skill credit you must complete the quest just like before. In most cases, you will receive the skill credit right then, just like before. If, however, something goes wrong and you don't receive the skill credit, you are no longer screwed. You'll get it the next time you log in.
Question Zarok - Harbinger Quest: Is the game triggered by an in-game event or an admin?
Answer Orion-Turbine - It's not a live trigger. It happens when it happens. It's a giant being constantly stirring beneath the world and only sometimes coming to life.
Question madSkillzMcGee - Are Runed Chests working as intended? (more answers to this question)
Answer#1 srand - I'm glad that you like the dynamic! As a lockpicker myself, I was pretty excited about it. The timers on the Runed Chests are currently working as designed. However, after seeing them in action, we are considering decreasing the timers for the Runed Chests on the landscape.
Answer#2 srand - Runed chests respawn their contents as soon as they relock. So if you are picking the lock, the stuff you find inside should include a fresh set of treasure (and not, for instance, just what was left behind by the last opener). Even on the unlocked chests, you have to be extremely quick to re-open the chest before it respawns. Now, as far as the general worthiness of treasure goes, we have been tweaking the treasure tables somewhat in order to reduce the amount of completely useless junk that you find. (Non-uber junk is fine, but completely useless junk is a bit annoying.) Expect a Letter to the Players soon (hopefully this week or next) that discusses some of these changes.
Answer#3 srand - Not all of the Runed Chests are locked. There are 4 locked varieties, and 3 unlocked varieties. On the other hand, you really shouldn't be finding less than three items in any of the chests, and they have a fairly decent loot profile. So I will look into it and see if there are any problems. (I've only run across one Runed Chest on the live worlds so far. It was locked and guarded by a couple of shadows. I killed the shadows, unlocked the chest, started to open it -- and the *rest* of the shadows spawned. I instinctively went into combat mode, which closed the chest .. and then I cursed myself for a full five minutes. I'm still wondering what was in that chest. *grin*)
Question -Optical- - Will we ever see a Base Attribute Reset Quest?
Answer srand - We are considering a mechanic that would allow characters to redistribute their starting attribute points in some fashion. We haven't yet decided if, when, or any specifics. Feel free to use this thread to discuss the implications of such a mechanic.
Question zinger - When can I hook my Virindi/Profatrix masks?
Answer srand - I spoke to our hooking expert (I'm tempted to call him our expert hooker, but I won't), and he tells me that you should be able to hook your Inquisitor mask in December. It's too late to get the Profatrix mask done for December, unfortunately, so it will have to wait for the next round of hookings.
