Asherons Call: Alas, Poor Gaerlan. I Knew Him, Harlune.

The latest Ask Lao article is up on Asheron's Lore and this one speaks of the Empyreans who just seem to keep coming out of the woodwork. An excerpt:

[i][Concerning Empyreans]

It seems as though, for an exiled race of super-beings, Empyreans are just popping out of the wood work. First we have Asheron, who likens himself to be the grandfather of the Isparian People, protecting us and humoring out follies.

Next we have Harlune, who until recently, was believed to be an Empyrean. It wasn't until Gaerlan's tampering with portal space that we learned that Harlune was more a hero to us than Asheron. Harlune was saving lives on Ispar long before Asheron cast the Sundering.

And finally, we have Gaerlan, the egomaniac with both delusions of granduer as well as an unfaltering loyalty to his imprisoned liege- Kellin II.

Of these three, only Asheron remains hidden. Does he fear us? Or is he just antisocial, enjoying only the company of his adopted "daughter' Elysa Strathelar.

Not surprisingly, some of the better quests of recent time have revolved around these Empyreans. Here I look to review them and just speak in general of them.
