Final Fantasy: Crono Trigger Fan Game Threatened by Legal Action

Square Enix send a Cease and Desist letter to the small team who are responsible for the project of making Chrono Trigger: Resurrection. This fan made game was put together by an uncommonly dedicated development team. The dream of A Chrono Remake has long been floating around. This project was not only meeting the desires of a remake (CT in 3D!), but surpassing them with truly spectacular work with GameCube and Xbox development kits used to put the game together. Now after such a long and hard journey for the team, their dedicated work will never be played by all who wanted it so badly.

It is unknown why, after years of looking the other way that Square Enix has just now finally decided to crack down and threaten the developers of this particular project with legal action. It is hard to see why Square Enix would want to put down a project that honours their own hard work. One popular theory is that it's because of the unprecedented quality of the project, which, frankly, is really up there and among the best fan-game work I've ever seen.

Screens and a Movie of the Project released by the team of the last build of the game are available on there site. Whatever this team is planning on next, I'm sure that after this many eyes will be on them.
