Emergency Update: Current Server Status[/a]
The complex where the beta servers were being held was indeed damaged by a tornado. The real danger is not from debris but water, which was leaking into the building in which the servers were located.
The servers were shut down as a precaution and a team of network engineers are surveying the area now to provide a preliminary assessment.
This morning, it was confirmed that some hardware has taken on water, so Blizzard will need to conduct a careful inspection for damage before they can restore power to the servers. This inspection will take 48 hours or longer to complete, so the World of Warcraft beta test will remain offline for at least that long.
Blizzard will post another update tomorrow afternoon, and we appreciate your continued patience and support.
