Got this little gem in the email today, SOE confirmed that there will be a competition with an unannounced prize for those attending the SOE Fan Faire in October! Here is the press release:
Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) will be holding its next EverQuest Fan Faire in New Orleans, Louisiana, October 28-31, 2004. The event is expected to draw more than one thousand EverQuest fans from around the world as players come together to meet, socialize, interact with the development team, and have a good time.
At this Fan Faire, SOE will be holding EverQuest II SuperQuest, Ultimate Elimination Challenge, a Beta Tournament where 25 select players will compete to create the highest level character with the most experience points (XP) in a 48-hour period (10:00 a.m. EDT, October 29, 2004 to
9:59 a.m. EDT, October 31, 2004). The winner will be eligible for the tournament's first prize which will be announced at the Fan Faire. In anticipation of the tournament, SOE will be providing registered New Orleans Fan Faire attendees with EverQuest II Beta Invitations to prepare for possible competition in the tournament on or around October 11th after registration closes.
Those wishing to enter the EverQuest II Beta program must agree to all terms of service and the beta participation agreement. Participation in the Beta program is at SOE's discretion and is not guaranteed.
