Darkness. Exhaustion. The world seems to sway under me. As I open my eyes slowly light beams in and I am nearly blinded by the morning sun. Am I dead? Is this heaven? I think as I take a deep breath and my senses are filled with the smells of the sea. Slowly I further regain consciousness and I seem to be aboard a small merchant vessel. How long had I been afloat awaiting any sign of rescue? How long again had I lost consciousness?
