"Midnight Slasher" Strikes Again!

In the last few weeks Paragon City has become struck aghast in the grip of fear. Citizens are afraid to leave their homes at night, as something which people are now calling the "Midnight Slasher" seems to be preying upon anyone caught outside after dark. Bodies have been found drained of blood and left throughout the city in public places. Last eve at precisely the stroke of midnight another victim was found, this time on the steps of City Hall in Atlas Park. When the Mayor's office was asked to respond we were told, "we're looking into it and you can rest assured we will not tolerate such wanton acts of violence nor will we give in to any threats".

I recently caught up with the hero Duskfallen, who is an expert in the paranormal. Duskfallen believes that we may be facing off against something much more gruesome then it appears. He believes that citizens should be afraid of whatever stalks the streets at night, for it could be that which "damn the souls of men and confines their fates to oblivion" as he succinctly put it, when I questioned him at length about the gruesome murders. He believes it will take more studies and conferencing with the spirits of the "world beyond", along with some divinations to determine the true identity of the Midnight Slasher and what it is exactly this ghoulish cutthroat wants.

Whether there is truth to Duskfallen's proposal or not, that this is some creature or thing feeding off of the souls of living, remains to be seen. The whereabouts of the Midnight Slasher are still unknown, while he yet remains at large. The Paragon City Police Department has urged that all citizens should be on their guard and in doors by sunset. In this city of heroes, hopefully soon enough we'll be rescued from the terror of the slasher that has been wrought upon the helpless citizens of Paragon City in the cold chilling embrace of night.

Event Information

Event will take place Friday, October 15th starting at 9pm est and ending at 11pm est on the Virtue server.

The event will be a Halloween "Who done it?", where players try to discover the true identity behind the "Midnight Slasher". Players will be given a clue on Justice Radio at 9pm est to the location of the first event team member for players to speak to. Once players have reached the first event team member, that event team member will give them clues to another event team member. The chain will continue down the line until players have spoken to all event team members and are redirected back to the starting event team member that was announced prior, on Justice Radio to begin the event.

Please keep in mind that all event team members will be "in character". Likewise we request that you do not send any tells to event team members as they will need to speak with other event team staff and the tells will likely go unanswered.

The event will not take place in any hazard zones and has been fashioned with new heroes in mind, so that everyone might be able to participate in the event.

Prizes

1 Grand Prize Winner will receive a prepaid copy of the upcoming City of Villains expansion. Winner will be determined by the first to speak to all the event team members, return to the event team member that started the event off who had been announced on Justice Radio, and correctly give the name of the event team member who is in fact the "Midnight Slasher". Shipping for CoV will be overnighted to anywhere in the continental U.S. including Alaska and Hawaii. Any resident from outside the U.S. who is determined the winner will be responsible for any additional shipping charges.

4 Runner ups will receive 2.5 million influence each.

Justice Radio After Party

Starting at 11pm est. Winners of the event will be announced live on Justice Radio by DJ Azmyth. We will also be giving away over 6 million in influence and other prizes at the after party.

After Party will be held in the center of the Valor Bridge in Independence Port at about the center of the bridge. Location is 948 -2230

There were be teleporters present to help low security level heroes get to the party area which has already been determined to be free of villains. Simply ask in broadcast for some assistance and it will be quickly provided. We will also have bouncers at the party to eliminate villains who may have followed heroes and try to crash the party.

So come in your best costume, because it's time to trick or treat rock n roll style!

It's that time of year again when the dead begin to rise, witches weave their curses, and strange things come to pass unseen within the darkest of shadows, for something dark and sinister has claimed Paragon City as its lair. Keep watch as more will be announced as this ghastly and gruesome tale of horror and suspense continues to unfold.
