City Of Heroes: Remembering Christopher Reeve - Community Comments

| 11 Oct 2004 13:57

It is with a great deal of sadness that I make this news post as I heard this morning of Christopher Reeve's passing. It has been requested by several community members that we have a place for folks to post their thoughts and feelings about the man that re-invented the character of Superman on the big screen. So, in honor of Mr. Reeve a thread on our General Community forums has been created.

The comment below was submitted to us by "The Original Hero" from the Justice Server, who will be holding a vigil on behalf of Mr. Reeve under the statue of Atlas.

I think that as people who play in a superhero based game, we should take a moment to respect the man who "breathed life" into the greatest superhero of all. Christopher Reeve made Superman his character, and carried the impact the character made on him into his real life. He fought on after his accident for the same things Superman would have liked anyone to fight for. As such, I think he was a true superhero for truth, justice and the American way. He will be missed, and always remembered.

I am going to be on with "The Original Hero" under the Atlas statue for the next day in honor of Mr. Reeve on the Justice Server.

Thanks for your time.
