Star Wars Galaxies: Enhancing your SWG game performance

| 29 Oct 2004 00:26

Thunderheart posted these ways to help you get the best experience while playing SWG:

In order to help you get the best experience while playing Star Wars Galaxies, we recommend having 512MB of RAM or more. People who purchase Jump To Lightspeed are required to have 512MB of RAM, but all players get a significant performance benefit when increasing their system memory to 512MB RAM or more.

If you are experiencing any performance issues, you should ensure that your system RAM is at least 512MB first by going to your Windows control panel and selecting the System option. Your current system RAM will be displayed on the general tab.

You can also improve your play experience by changing the following game settings from the game options button on your Launchpad:

Graphics Tab

Check "Disable Bump Mapping"

Check "Use Low Detail Textures"

Check "laceName>DisablelaceName>laceType>Multi-PasslaceType> Rendering"

Advanced Tab

Check "Use Low Detail Characters"

Check "Use Low Detail Meshes"

We will continue to keep you informed of best options and recommended hardware configurations for Star Wars Galaxies as we expand the experience.
