Star Wars Galaxies: Full features & Game interface tutorial

| 4 Feb 2003 23:14

As promised, a full features list has been posted as well has some other sweet things that are amazing!
Q-3P0's post has so much information, I'm just going to copy it right here as there is too much to briefly say:

Today we are officially announcing our Feature List for initial release! We've also got a few more goodies for you as well. Let me list what to you can start feasting yourself on:

Feature List
This page now contains our final feature list for the April 15th Release. We're pretty proud of the amount and quality of features going in to the game. I hope you'll be pleased as well. Now there are a couple features that have gotten moved to post release; I'll have Shug_Ninx do a post explaining where we are with those in an hour or two.

FAQ Revamp
Over the last two years we have added one or more new FAQ every Friday, making for a very large list. During implementation and beta testing, things have changed here and there. We've gone through the entire FAQ with a fine toothed comb and updated it where needed to reflect our current designs for the game. As always, the FAQ represents our intentions, not necessarily what is guaranteed. However, I think the FAQ now gives you a fairly accurate view of the game you will see in a couple months.

Professions List
Although two of our previously announced professions got put on hold until after release, you'll now see that we've increased the number of professions from 28 to 35. I know a lot of you are very curious about the prerequisites for each advanced profession. I'm afraid we aren't ready to talk about them yet.

User Interface
Today we also reveal our user interface in a quick little flash tour. This should give you an overview of how you will interact with the game world. Enjoy

I've also got a couple screenshots that I'll get up on the site by the end of the day. They deal with the six starting professions.

I'm sure there will be some questions coming from all this. We'll try to answer some on the forums over the next couple days. We'll also be answering as many questions as we can at the Developer's Chat on Thursday. Hope to see you there.

Well I am quite stunned at how simple that user interface actually looks, (note that radar scanning distance is 64 meters). Also those boxes in the bottom right look really cool, plus the fact you can transform any of the boxes to make them bigger, smaller, you can move them, or even change thier hue and transparency!

The features list is mostly all old news, but certainly does look impressive listed out like that!

Also to top it off, (if you can, lol) a few screenshots will be put up by the end of the day that relate to the six starting professions!

*phew* You can read Q-3P0's post right here!
