Asherons Call: Soapbox - On Ranged Area Effect Weapons & the Resurrection of TW

Today's Soapbox is a little different...it talks about Thrown Weapons. I mean, that would be like a Soapbox on Mace! We poor neglected weapons users. Although I do take umbrage with a statement from this Soapbox:

Efforts to vitalize the Thrown Weapons skill into a viable weapon has failed (I've NEVER seen anyone seriously using it for combat. I've never seen an Atlatl in use.)

First off, when Atlatls were still 60% modifiers and there was no tinkering, Ravlen of Leafcull killed the Queen with his. (no deadlies yet either). And I spec'd my TW just last week and it worked wonderfully against Mowen Uduan - I'm 102. So, don't say we aren't out there! We just lurk in the shadows with the macers.

What this Soapbox proposes is area of effect weapons. Something like throwing a bomb. And you know, since we TW people spend the same skill credits as Xbowers, get lower damage, slower animation than bow and have to train up strength for our damage bonus...damnit we deserve bombs!
