Asherons Call: All Hail King Broodu!

| 22 Nov 2004 01:48

This quest is similar to the Reeshan and Kiree Quests (Part 1 and 2 of the Burun Kings Saga). Rumor has it that once every three hours a Watcher of the Dead appears in bunker outside of the Blackmire 2 Dungeon (the former location of the Gharu Master Mage). The easist way to get there is to take a master mage gem. Otherwise take Samsur to Khayyaban (3.2S 19.1E) to the Desert Vangaurd Cottages (49.3S 25.9E) then to 40.7S 11.9E.

Do NOT pull the vine to enter the Blackmire 2 Dungeon or you will have to run again.

If the Watcher of the Dead has spawned, speak to him to be portaled in. This dungeon is full of high level Burun so bring a frost rending weapon.

Watcher of the Dead tells you, "My purpose is plain, I watch the dead that reside within the halls of this temple. I have stood this vigil since my sacrifice over thirty thousand years ago, when the world cooled and the darkness made war upon all. The weight of time has long crushed my bones to dust and left with me with this incorporeal form. Yet, I serve my purpose with the same vigor that I did in life."
Watcher of the Dead tells you, "The delta is long covered in the harsh and dry sands. If the taint unleashed from the world long hidden by the portals within these halls has claim all will be fertile to point of death. Life will grow unchecked and there will be a choking that suffocates the core of this world and all who live on it."
Watcher of the Dead tells you, "Enter these halls and purge this taint. Then shall we rest, then shall we find peace."

Head mostly south, the way is pretty straight forward and similar to the other two King quests. Proceed until you reach a Portal Gateway and use it.

Riddle Room: This room is full of levers and tests your math skills. Each lever is labeled with a number (or number sequence). You must first select a lever to begin your personal sequence which will portal you into another small room nearby with a few more levers. Select the next lever with the proper number in the sequence. Here is an example:

    [li]Select the lever labeled "0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5..."
[li]After it portals you, select the lever labeled "8"
[li]After it portals you, select the lever labeled "13"
[li]After it portals you, select the lever labeled "21"
[li]After it portals you, select the lever labeled "34"
[li]After it portals you, select the lever labeled "55"
There are other possible sequences as well.

Enter the exit portal and check your buffs. You will need at least 30 minutes to safely fight your way to the end with a full fellow. Once again, just like the other Kings, keep to your left until you get to the end of the dungeon where their is a portaling device. Using the Portaling Device is a hot drop so buff beforehand if you must.

All Hail King Broodu! Use Frost or Fire Rending Weapons because vulning him only makes him stronger and mad. Drop your fellowships, he casts some nasty fellow debuff spells. King Broodu is a mean, fat Burun that will eat you. If he eats you, you need to fight your way out. One tip is to use a CS wand and cast a wall spell. If you aren't a mage, use a CS frost weapon to get out of his belly. Once he dies, he explodes into a pile of skin. Grab a piece of his hide (you can only get one) and exit the dungeon before respawn!

Visit the Guard Hamdyn in Cragstone. You only need to speak with him to get your random prize. The hide can be redeem to him for the title of Broodu Killer or combined with Reeshan's Hide from Part 1 of the Burun Kings quest and Kiree's Hide from Part 2 of the Burun Kings Quest for a future prize.
