imageWhen I first saw the story, I didn't realize that Shelby (aka Garthilk), the founder of Okratas.com and site manager of Vanguard Okratas.com, had actually done the remixing himself. I went to his site to look at the trailer and was simply overawed at the beauty and simplicity of it. So I roused myself out of a work-induced stupor and signed up at the Okratas.com forum to tell him what I thought. Here is Garthilk's story on how he came to make the remix:

The idea first came to me while watching the original trailer for about the 50th time. I decided, wow, there is a lot of concept art, and screenshots out that would make a cool trailer. Secondly, I know I could find some much cooler music. So being the novice that I am, I fired up my trusty Microsoft Movie Maker. Edited away and bam I had a remix. But I needed sound. So I found a song that worked fairly well, and had a decent pace. I originally chose, the theme song from the ride at California Adventures, Soaring Over California. Which is an amazing song btw.

Then I decided to show it off. I got great feedback from everyone I showed it to. The next step was to show it to Sigil. I talked to Cindy about it, and she inquired about the music. At this point she mentioned that Todd Masten might be interested in helping me out in the music department, and that David Gilbertson had noticed something.

So I hit up David first, and he pointed out that I had accidentally remixed the original video into 4:3 ratio, instead of 16:9. So after a new build, I went to Todd and said, I heard you might be interested in helping me out. Sure enough, Todd was enthusiastic. He created the audio that you hear today. In fact, Todd cranked out the audio in record pace. No sooner had I asked him, within a handful of days, I had a hot little score on my hands.
