Dungeons And Dragons Online: Ken Troop Q&A at FileFront
|
There's a new Q&A discussing mechanics, why DDO will stand out, and some other things:
The music system in DDO is adaptive - it responds to the various events which happen to the player in real time, underlining their gameplay experience with something roughly equivalent to a film score.
While this concept isn't entirely new, most games providing adaptive music have done so using MIDI sequences, which tend to sound like, well, computer music. But our music guys are recording their music using live musicians, which will result in a more natural-sounding, higher quality soundtrack.
Glad to hear they're paying attention to even sound detail. You can read FileFront's two page interview right here
