Shadowglen

What a fantastic day this was. I got to meet a dryad, Tarindrella, for the first time in my life. She was all that I was told in the stories when I was young and she was much much more beautiful than I could ever imagine. She is a protector of Nature and keeps the balance of all growing things in Shadowglen and asked me to help her.

Me!

Of all the Night Elves in Teldrassil and all the new trainees at Shadowglen she choose me to help her to preserve the life force of the furbolg species. They had been corrupted by some Fel Moss, whatever that may be or where it might have come from. It all started when Melithar Staghelme asked me to see her under the Ash tree on the hill just out of Aldrassil.

At first she was quite annoyed that all I could do was stare at her, nailed on the spot. I honestly didn't know what to say, so I just mumbled that Melithar said I should see you, even though I'd never seen a dryad before, and I didn't know what dryads really did, or that nothing could be so beautiful and, and ...

But then she told me to be still and just listen and take a deep breath and just relax. And then she send me to see about the Grells and Grellkins and what made them so corrupt. And that's how I found the Fel Moss that got inside the furbolg degenerates. And then it was Tarindrella who performed the rites of burning that got rid of the corruptions. Still, I thank Elune that I could help keep Teldrassil pure from evil.

No sooner had I got back to Aldrassil to rest a bit and tidy myself up again or I see Dirania Silvershine in deep distress. Her friend Iverron usually comes by at a set time, but he was late and there was nothing that anyone had heard from him. Dirania told me where he planned to go if I could just keep an eye out for him please. She mentioned a cave a bit north and spiders, which are not my favorite animals. Hopefully Iverron didn't go into the cave and the cave is not full of spiders and he's gone back home and he'll be alright. Of course I was wrong on all counts. Iverron did go in the cave and got bit by Githyiss the Vile, who seems to be the leader of this spider nest. Dirania was able to make an antidote for Iverron, though I had to hurry with the ingredients. Dirania was crippled when she was young and although her legs were cured, she just can't move very well even now. Hopefully her legs will get better still now that she lives within the dripline of Teldrassil, the new World Tree, but only time will tell. In the end, Iverron got to drink the antidote and will soon be able to visit Dirania again.

Gilshalan Windwalker also had an important task for me. At first he just asked me to kill a few yucky spiders at the edges around the top of Shadowglen. But then he asked me to go inside the cave with all those live creepy crawlies! Sure, I have been in a cave before, as a young lass at the sea. But that was a cave made from the tidal forces, shaped by Elune and the sea giants. This one had live monsters in it and they were all out to get me. I just ran in and got the first egg that I could find without a crack in it and I just ran out again. Unfortunatley I fell through the floor and I had to fight for my life before I could get out. That was a blessing in disguise really, as I learned a good lesson: Don't panic! Keep your head clear and you can think your way out, but a good dagger is not amiss either. Finally Gilsharan send me to Tenaron Stormgrip, the mayor of Shadowglen.

Orenthil Whisperwind was kind enough to give me a companion for my travels in Kalimdor and all of Azeroth. I had never seen these strange creatures, but the Panda Cub was cute and cuddly. I chose the panda cub to forever remind me of the warm cozy hut at the coast where my grandmother raised me after my parents died. Conservator Ilthalaine also had a few tasks for me that nearly had me run out of arrows. Luckily I managed to scrounge a few coppers together to restock and now I have a full quiver again. Tenaron Stormgrip send me on my way to Dolanaar, a
village down the road from Shadowglen. The various upgrades to my leather outfit will also help on my travels beyond Shadowglen and Aldrassil, but they have done nothing for my looks. Oh well, sometimes its better to meld into the shadows than be the flower of the honeytree I guess ...
