E3, 2002. Some of you were there, some of you weren't. Many people can remember the very beginnings of a species' design, and many can't.
Even though its been roughly eight months since the biggest Gaming Event of 2002, times have changed, and so has SWG. From the addition of many furry little creatures, to items, professions, blue glowies and species, to the subtraction of the Hutt faction, player cities and private transport, many things have definitely changed. For better, for worse, thats not my place to say, but the game has really evolved from ideas on tiny pieces of paper, to an almost completed, fully fledged playable creation.
Back at E3, we saw the team explaining the game, while showing us a demo of an area in Tatooine with a player interacting in the simulated world's surroundings. One of the species we saw was an older version of the Mon Calamari running around on screen, and we thought that we would remind you of just how far design has come since then!
Take a look at an older version of a Mon Calamari, and a more, recently designed one here. Alternatively, to get the full effect of a later Mon Calamari, you can click here, to see one in 360 degree view.
