Star Wars Galaxies: Shug has been busy!

| 24 Feb 2003 13:48

Yeesh, it seems the devs don't even rest on Sundays! Shug_Ninx decided to drop in and answer many of the questions surrounding his last expedition article. Shug answered everything from items relating to in-game sound to the types of creatures on Naboo and even if he was kill stealing or not! Here is a snippet of his post:

I'm just wondering if those idle actions could give your location away. You mentioned coughing, would this action give away your location if you were stalking some animals?

No, I don't believe so, since idles are out of your control and only occur when you haven't touched the keyboard for a while.

Will the aggressiveness of the creatures be based upon their own traits or the skill level of the player encountering them?
[/I]

Their own traits. A gnort is going to be relatively peaceful regardless of who wanders past it (well, peaceful until you start attacking it...). A krayt dragon is always going to be ultra-aggressive and attack anyone who stumbles across it. However, because the spawning system takes your relative strength (via number of skills) into account, a new player is much more likely to encounter peaceful creatures like gnorts than an experienced player - essentially, as you become more powerful, the types of creatures you encounter become more dangerous and, in many cases, more aggressive.
