Vanguard: Happy New Year!!

2004 has seen quite a few highlights regarding Vanguard: Saga of Heroes. Twenty-one of us community reps descended upon the Sigil offices in early October and were treated to a display of gameplay that promises to be the best yet. Many of us had never met Brad McQuaid, or Jeff Butler, or Keith Parkinson (well, Keith was sick, so we STILL didn't get to meet him). We oohed and ahhhed our way through the offices, confirmed that Cindy Bowens, Community Manager, was in fact a real-live sweetheart, and basically created havoc and merriment.

Earlier in the year, Vanguard Warcry's own Community Manager, Janson, was hijacked from us by Sigil and joined the working ranks of the talented team who are putting together this great game.

Vanguard Warcry came up with some great stories and interviews, as did the other affiliated fan sites. We all got lots of pictures, screenshots were plentiful...and the devs were reasonably forthcoming.

And so, at the end of such a fulfilling year, I will be leaving Vanguard Warcry in reasonably good shape. I have resigned from both the Warcry hub (as senior editor) and the Vanguard Warcry fan site (as site manager), effective January 1st. I am not 100% sure of my future plans, other than writing like crazy on my much-neglected fantasy novel. However, I do not want to lose my ties with the wonderful Vanguard crowd, both Sigil folk and the great people who run the other affiliated Vanguard fan sites. It is likely I will either end up at one of the sites or perhaps I might even start my own.

You will note that Raya's Dungeon has been taken down. That was my private property and not anything to do with Warcry. I will be taking it with me. And perhaps I will be announcing on the Vanguard official forum where I end up.
