Auto Assault: WarCry Interviews Scott Brown

Recently, I had a chance to interview Scott Brown, the Project Lead for Auto Assault. Here's an excerpt:

WarCry: The new player experience in some other games has been tedious, and in some cases, a painful grind to get to a point where the "fun" starts. How soon after starting a character in Auto Assault will a player be able to blow stuff up, run things over, and dominate the planet?

Scott: I love this question because Auto Assault is built to be fun right from the start. Our missions and storyline are all handcrafted and players will be engaged in the "fun part" of the game from the beginning. You are blowing up buildings, running down infantry and smashing through roadblocks in the introduction maps right out of the gate. I think a big part of making any RPG not feel like a grind, whether it's online or not, is keeping the game "mission centric" as opposed to "level centric."

Thanks again to Scott and the Auto Assault team for their time!
