Dungeons And Dragons Online: DDO News: Adapting Combat Feats

| 5 Feb 2005 03:22

On the official forums, Xundau can be found discussing the combat system again. This post deals more with porting feats from pen and paper to work in a real-time combat system, with some examples:

To this end, we've experiemented with a couple of implementations of Cleave: one of them has the attacker swing their weapon in a wide arc, hitting any enemies caught in the arc. We found that this wasn't always very effective though, so we've also tried Cleave as a short dash forward, weapon extended -- any enemies caught in the dash can be hit.

Sounds kind of like the bull rush ability in Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, and boy could that be fun. Check out Xundau's post here.
