Dark Age Of Camelot: Stop - Grab Bag Time

| 25 Feb 2005 18:16

Here we go:

Q: I have been hunting to get scroll #3 for the Nailah's Robe artifact. The apprentice in Stygia Haven says it should drop from setian desert scouts and a couple other setian types. I have been hunting many setian desert scouts, mostly near the Keeper of the Stone's fort and have not gotten the scroll. Other people have now told me that the scroll I seek only drops from setian desert scouts found in the camps and forts near the Fortress of Storms. Is this just a rumor, a loot bug, or am I just very unlucky?

A: Your friends may be working off of old information, and not trying to mislead you. And you are a bit unlucky. We changed the system a little while ago to make it easier. Here's the skinny from the Mistress: "All instances of setian desert scouts regardless of location have the same scrolls with the same chances to drop."

Q: If I want to farm SoM 3/3 is there a higher chance of it dropping on the mobs it used to drop off, or is it an equal chance no matter what lvl 55+ taur or saim that I kill?

A: The chances are exactly the same.

Q: Does the MoC duration/damage penalty affect ichor of the deep?

A: Yes.

Q: I am a cabalist. My question is, is ML9 Convoker Summon Mastery stackable with Juggernaut, or vice versa?

A: Our Spell Queen ran some quick examples to make sure this was accurate, and responded with the following:

"Summon Mastery adds 20 levels to the pet, when used. Juggernaut I adds 10, Juggernaut 2 adds 20, Juggernaut 3 adds 30.

"These abilities do not stack with each other. They will overwrite each other (based on which Juggernaut level you have).

"So...

"Summon Mastery overwrites Juggernaut I. Juggernaut III overwrites Summon Mastery.

"Summon Mastery and Juggernaut II will overwrite each other, as they have the same 20 level pet increase.

"Ideally, since they do not stack, Juggernaut III gives you the best level increase for your pet. Summon Mastery is extremely nice though, since it's better or equal to the first two levels of Juggernaut."

Q: We were out attempting artifacts in the region of Volcanus one evening on our home server of Iseult. After getting to the arti spawn point we found the artifact had not yet re-spawned so we left and after much agro, our whole party died. Once we released we decided to check one of the other servers in the cluster for the artifact. So we ported over to Pellinor. On our way to the artifact, we ran past the spot in which we died on Iseult, and lo and behold our graves were in front of us. About half of us prayed at our graves thinking this was weird and didnt give it much thought until we ported over to Kay and found the graves of the people who did not pray previously... Is this some sort of bug or will our graves erected on all three servers?

A: It's not exactly a bug - there is really only one gravestone. As you noticed, praying (or dying again somewhere else, but you want to try and avoid that) will make all three vanish. But the stone does appear to be on all three servers.

I don't know as we will be leaving this in, so don't get attached. But for now, it's a low priority as it doesn't seem to be doing any harm.

Q: (Insert LOS question here.)

A: I need your help with line of sight issues, gang. Although in many cases I know what spot you're referring to, you need to be a lot more specific with your feedback forms when it comes to LOS. I need zone names and /loc numbers in order to get the best results for you. Thanks in advance for your help!

Q. I don't get it. I've got a level 5 Shar Guardian that I didn't use /level to level up and I'm at the Vampiir trainer in TNN, but I just can't become a Vampiir. What am I doing wrong?

A. From CS: "Are you using the Trials of Atlantis client? In order to become a Vampiir, you must be using the Catacombs client. Once you become a Vampiir, you can use whatever client you want to play it, but you have to be using the Catacombs client to actually become a Vampiir."

Q. I was thinking about getting the Maddening Scalars for my Warlock, but was wondering... will my chambers still be visible in wolf form?

A. "Yes, both you and your enemy will still be able to see your chambers floating above you."

Our Haiku contest was a fabulous success. (What, you haven't seen the winners?! Get to the community page right now!) We had what felt like zillions of entries, and choosing just a handful of poems to post nearly broke Missy. Thank you all so much for your creative efforts. We're looking to plan a little winner's ceremony for an awarding of laurels in the first half of March. Stay tuned for our next writer's contest!

Attention house owners: Please. By ALL that is good and holy and covered in melted cheese - please go to your house, right this second, and check the info box. Is the amount of money on your house running dangerously low? It is SO easy to miss the pop up warnings, and on the clustered servers, the warnings are temporarily not working. Don't wait another minute - check to see if the rent is almost due on your house, and mark the date it IS due on a small calendar. It happens every week at the same time. We cannot restore houses lost due to non-payment, however much the CSR's heart is breaking for you.

If you live in the frozen tundra of the north, mark Saturday, March 19th on the calendar... because that's when I'll be in Concord, Ontario for a player gathering at Dave and Buster's. Yep, my turn in the barrel :) I jest, I jest - I've always loved these gatherings, and I loooooooooooved me some Ontario the last time I was there. Hoo boy. The fun will continue for me even after the gathering. Bring on the Yonge Street action, baby.

All right, I'm out, see you next Monday!
