City Of Heroes: Arena PVP Balance

Positron, Cryptic Studios Game Designer, started a new thread about Arena PVP Balance now that Issue 4 is on Test. Here's what he had to say:

With that out of the way, let me just start by saying that, Yes, there are some "unbalanced" things in PvP right now. We tested a TON of different builds at a TON of different levels with a TON of different combinations. But of course, there are only so many hours in a day, and so many people to test with.

Please report glaring unbalances here in this thread, so Geko, Statesman, and the rest of us can get an idea what they are. One on One matches are less useful to us, because there is a LOT of Rock, Paper, Sissors, Spock, Lizard when it's just 1v1. Some builds are incredibly tough versus other builds, but are paper mache' versus yet others.

2v2 and bigger matches give us a better idea where true balance issues lie.

RE: Brawl
Brawl has a chance to knock off toggles. We played around with the % chance of this occuring a lot, and are "pretty happy" with where it is. That doesn't mean it's unchangeable. If toggle-based builds simply can never win in PvP, then we have a problem. If they can never be beaten, then we have a problem.

RE: Break Free Inspirations
Please tell us how these feel. They don't last a crazy amount of time, but you can use them to break out of a condition you are currently under (conditions now show in red under your health bar, like IMMOBILIZED, or HELD)

RE: Temporary Powers for Sale
Yes, these can be used outside the Arena (mostly due to technical limitations). The price for these is fixed (can't change over level), and may change by the time this goes to Live.
