Rocking out to the grab bag, live from Fairfax on a Friday night!
Q: Will my warlock have a respec option in 1.75.
A: That's the plan.
Q: Will RVR Missions be integrated into the specialty servers (Mordred and Gaheris)?
A: We are still discussing it, to some extent, but the answer is probably no. It doesn't make sense for Gaheris, and long time players of Mordred can immediately see the inherent problems. But keep an eye on the Herald for any changes.
Q: In 1.74A, you changed Golden Spear so that Valkryies and Hunters could activate it as a thrust weapon. The level five ability is the ability to debuff its own damage type... which is still slash on the thrust Golden Spear.
A: This will be fixed in 1.75. Thanks!
Q: Would it be possible to implement a replacing of the 30 original character creation points?
A: Sadly, it's not possible. Or, rather, it would be possible only if we had both nothing else to do and a bigger team of programmers. So while you never know, holding one's breath would be somewhat inadvisable.
Q: Where can I find a listing of all the battlegrounds and the Realm points cap for each?
A: http://www.camelotherald.com/article.php?id=86 And, in an attempt to be helpful, I'm going to admit I'd completely forgotten where that information was on the Herald. I remember doing it for the Grab Bag, and I knew I remembered proofreading a design document for the Herald, but the Herald search feature was giving me a hit for every single time the word "battleground" had been used.
So, I further admit, I went to Google. I clicked "Advanced Search," and told the engine to only search the domain of www.camelotherald.com for "battleground realm point cap." Dan the Man and Code Ed showed me that trick awhile back, and I've been meaning to post it to help you all find existing documentation.
Q: I would like to know if a solution has been found to the bug I reported regarding the rewards for the new user quests for the Midgard rogue class. What happens is that when you have finished all the new user quests, you have two Recruit's Starklaedar Jerkins and no Recruit's gloves. All the other character classes that I have tried have received all six pieces of armor appropriate to their class. I believe the error is in the reward for the Stolen Eggs quest, which is a Recruit's Starklaedar Jerkin identical to the jerkin that is a one of the rewards to the Beginning of War quest. Since all the other Midgard classes receive class-appropriate Recruit's gloves as their reward for the Stolen Eggs quest, it is logical to assume that the Midgard rogue's reward should be Recruit's Starklaedar Gloves.
A: The Lord of the Quest thought your logic was sound, and said, "Griffin Handler Njiedi will now give Recruit's Starklaedar Gloves to rogues instead of the extra Recruit's Starklaedar Jerkin during the Stolen Eggs quest."
Q: When clustering went live, it was decided that RvR zones would be shared by the cluster, but that Atlantis zones would not. The ML10 dungeon, Celestius, would technically fall into the "both" category, since it is Atlantis but also RvR. So are there multiple Celestiuses or just one per cluster?
A: Ah, the old "exception that proves the rule." It turned out to be easier to treat it like an Atlantis zone, so there's one per server in each cluster.
Q: I've been leveling a light spec mentalist, and i've been wondering if the Mastery of Focus helps the mentalist maintaining the charm of a given pet?
A: MoF doesn't affect mentalist charm, sorry to say.
Q: Last week, you said "By design, "Chants, Pacification (Healer spec line), Mind (Sorcerer spec line), Savagery (Savage ability line), and Thrown (Midgard's thrown weapon skill line) are not affected by realm rank bonuses, and they are also not affected by items." There should not be any items in the game with +chants, +pac, etc." You know that you are wrong? So very, very wrong?
A: I do now. For the record - bonuses don't affect Mind's charm, but DO affect the rest of the line. Mea culpa, y'all.
Q: I spread heal with my Warlock quite often and was wondering: Does my range increase spell work for the spread heal allowing me to heal those further than 2000 units away? Thanks :)
A: Our Spell and Style Goddess gave this a whirl to be certain, and replied, "No, it doesn't. You will still heal at the standard 2000 spreadheal range."
Q: I am having a terrible problem with my Forest Hearts (fnf) attacking my targets. Lately, in both Areus and Meso, they will not attack a mob until it attacks me. I could kind of understand the Aerus thing with hills, LoS, etc., but in Meso, in the middle of the ocean, it was still happening. If my controlled pet would get aggro before the mob attacked me, the Forest Cores would just sit there and do nothing. More than once, the mob would be standing directly in the middle of the Cores attacking my controlled, as I move my ground target just a little to make targeting easier. Please explain. It's definitely not a matter of just move clump. It happened for two hours on Sunday.
A: First, I promise you that it's not supposed to work that way. But as you noticed, it's not happening all the time. Here's the full report from your friends on the testing team:
"We have been seeing similar reports for weeks now. In every case, the player states that their baseline Creeping Path Fire and Forget turrets (Forest Hearts, and Forest Cores) are not attacking mobs in Green Glades and Arbor Glen (most notably the Cyclops and Centaurs). I have investigated this at least three times previously and have been unable to reproduce the issue. However, this is the first report that specifically mentions the used of a controlled pet.
"So, I tested this using the Grove's assassin controlled pet, and forest cores. I would cast a grove assassin near a Cyclops, then command it to attack the mob. Once the Cyclops had aggro'd the controlled pet, I started casting Forest Cores. In every situation, the Forest Cores immediately started casting on the Cyclops.
"With the number of reports we are getting, we're sure this issue is occurring on the live servers, but we are going to need some more info. I need exact locations of where this is occurring, the exact type of controlled pet being used, the exact names of the mobs being attacked, is there a power font or sphere of rejuvenation being used, etc."
Basically, we need your help in getting to a place where we can duplicate the problem - it's only when we can duplicate an issue on command that we can go about solving it. So please, pay close attention to the information requested, animists, and send us those detailed bug appeals we dream about.
Q: I currently have a 9% bonus to my spell duration, and I was wondering: If I cap out that bonus in my final template, will that have any impact on my pet duration (i.e., will my air pets have a longer timer)?
A: Code Ed says, "Yup. Affects both animist turrets and theurgist pets."

Astute and observant readers will note that the Lord of the Quest joined the column in the place of the Quest Goddess. I know that her fans will want to join me in wishing her and her husband the best, when their son "spawns" in a few days.
Get your Roundtable tickets and your hotel room now and beat the rush! http://www.camelotherald.com/more/1976.shtml I particularly like how the hotel is a short stroll from the convention center. I only live a few towns over, but I'm hoping to stay in the hotel myself during the show for that convenient walk in the spring air.
Well, I better get out of here and do some laundry - I'm on the early flight to Canada tomorrow for the Roundtable Roadtrip: Concord/Toronto edition. I'm really looking forward to it. Miss Becky, of Marketing fame, is doing all the heavy lifting, so I'm just going to sit in the back with a slushie in my hand. And catcalling Walt, and insulting anyone who shows up from Percival.

See you later, alligators.
